FADE IN:

Hello #HoneyBuns! The Morning Buns #YouTube channel is on a bit of a hiatus so I have turned to blogs so we can keep up with each other.

Before we catch up, I'd like for my first blog post to be about #ValentinesDay, specifically, the best movies to watch leading up to this special day! I know it's only a few short nights away, but there's still time to at least watch 3. Can you do that for me?

Now some people may not be the biggest fan of Valentine's Day. They call it a Hallmark Holiday. I feel like those same people call every holiday a hallmark holiday. What I mean by #HallmarkHoliday is that these holidays were made up so the store, Hallmark, can sell as many cards, candy, stuffed animals, etc. that are related to the theme. I heard this in a movie once so please comment below which movie because I don't remember.

BUT...

...Did you know???

During the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14th was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance. I personally find that lovely.

I've been single for 3 years now. I've dated a few people, but no relationship status. I'm okay with this and I'm enjoying some time getting to know Casey. This doesn't mean I want to be single forever, this is just my personal preference. I love love. I do. And when the time is right I know the man I'm supposed to be with will find me.

PSA

Whoever you are, you'll have to make the first move. I've done that in almost every relationship and it's time for the guy to step up and be brave. But I'm sure THE one already knows that *Smile Emoji*.

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite days of the year because:

#1 My Mom and Dad got married on February 14, 1993.

I know! Hollywood status right here.

And #2 My little sister was born February 14, 1999.

This picture perfectly fits a description for Kerry: Sophisticated and Holy.

So yes, Valentine's Day is important to me. It's not for everyone but you know what is for everyone? MOVIES. Don't even try to debate with me. Movies. Are. For. Everyone. I'm not going to list all of my favorite movies leading up to this holiday because there is NO TIME FOR THAT. So I'll gift you with easy accessible, Valentine's Day films that are for everybody.

I narrowed each streaming service down to three with an honorable mention (this was not easy)!

NETFLIX

Honorable Mention: As Good As It Gets

HULU

I only found one I liked and here it is:

VUDU (I highly recommend signing up for Vudu) There is no fee, only if the movie/tv show you want to watch is not free. These films are FREE:

Honorable Mention: My Bloody Valentine (1981 version)

AMAZON PRIME

Honorable Mention: Valentine's Day (I mean, how can I leave this one out)?

ON DEMAND

Honorable Mention: What Women Want

AND if you happen to have these on Blu-Ray or DVD:

Honorable Mentions: A Cinderella Story + Music & Lyrics (My Mom's favorite)

Now please don't come at me! These are all movies I have watched and enjoyed and I don't think they are TOO on the nose for what to watch on or leading up to Valentine's Day. If you haven't seen them, give them a chance and if you have, revisit and soak 'em up.

Also AS A BONUS!

Here is my thesis film from undergrad that I love so dearly. It is inspired by my Mom's best friend's parents.
